ING Direct – ING Direct is an online high yield savings bank that consistently provides relatively higher savings  rate of  returns than brick and mortar banks.  At this time, they do not have the highest savings rate of online savings banks, but I still like to use them because they are reliable.

Scottrade – Scottrade is a discount retail brokerage firm that you can use to execute trades in the stock market as well to open retirement accounts.  I really like Scottrade for their investment tools and reliability.  They also have local branch office and cheap trades at $7 a trade.

Lending Club – Lending Club is a peer to peer lending company that allows you to borrow money from other individuals or to lend money and college interest on that investment.  I like this idea a lot and I think it is a great idea.  If you need money that the bank will not lend to you, you can sign up on Lending Club and borrow money from others for a certain interest rate.  On the flip side, if you want to invest some money and lend it to other for a pretty good return, this is a good option.

Elance – Elance is a website for freelancers to sell their services and for people who need expertise in a certain area to find help.  I have used Elance a couple times to hire web and software programmers for certain projects and found that it is a really useful website.  You can also sign up on the site as a service provider to earn more money on the side and generate more income.
